Pastor Bob Bjerkaas
Pastor Bob serves as Senior Pastor of Columbia Presbyterian Church in Columbia, Maryland, a role he began in January 2024. He served as senior pastor at Trinity Presbyterian Church in St Albans, VT from 1999 – 2007. He was also Senior Pastor of Church in the Canyon in Calabasas, California, faithfully shepherding the congregation from 2007 to 2024.
Bob has devoted his ministry to Christ-centered preaching, pastoral leadership, and the faithful proclamation of the gospel. He holds a Master’s degree in Theology from Reformed Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity from Chesapeake Theological Seminary. He has also pursued doctoral-level studies and is currently working on a doctoral project examining the role of the offer of the gospel in Reformed preaching, with particular attention to theological, hermeneutical, and pastoral considerations.
Prior to and alongside his pastoral ministry, Bob has invested deeply in education and mentorship. He earned bachelor’s degrees in History and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland and served for many years as an lacrosse coach at Oak Park High School, reflecting a long-standing commitment to leadership development both inside and outside the church.
Bob’s ministry is marked by thoughtful exposition of Scripture, pastoral wisdom, and a desire to see Christ’s church strengthened through the ordinary means of grace.
